NEW FEATURES

  • New Game+ Mode: You can now select a 100% save to start NG+. In NG+ you reset the story and start over but you get to keep all your outfits, dyes and talismans. Additonally all damage is doubled, enemies are swapped out with more difficult ones and shortcut ropes get removed entirely.

  • Randomizer Mode: You can now select an empty save to start a Randomizer playthrough. In Randomizer rewards across chests, challenges and boss fights are completely randomized. Shop item selections are also randomized as well as all enemy types. Even the biomes get randomized: A snowstorm in Lokitana? Why not!

  • Randomizer HEX Mode: Works like the Randomizer Mode with one added twist: Everything you pick up gets automatically equipped and you can not change it!

  • Viewing graffitis is now a separate, secondary prompt/input and no longer shares it with general interactions.

  • Added ability to filter leaderboard entries based on if they include ghost data or not.

PERFORMANCE

  • Fixed performance degradation experienced in Tridentarius Gearserkium after beating her and before leaving the area.
  • Improved performance with certain camera angles during Jester's boss fight.

GAMEPLAY

  • Adjusted camera obstruction collider size & damping to lower chances of it briefly being inside environment outlines when hitting certain walls and objects.
  • Fixed rare chance of the ocean disappearing when brushing the camera on very specific geometry.
  • Fixed the freezing effect lingering after dying and respawning outside of the snowstorm.
  • Fixed the ability to disable the freezing mechanic under several conditions including the chum's ice attack.
  • Fixed some outfit textures breaking when getting frozen.
  • Beebz's eyes properly reset if you exit out of selfie mode while she's doing the dazed expression.
  • Eunhan chase orb now properly despawns if you respawn right when you pick it up.
  • You now automatically exit snake form when entering a hex zone that doesn't allow snake form.
  • Improved sticky surfaces to lower chances of errant wall bounces.
  • Fixed rare chance of repositioning if you jump the moment you start a wall run.
  • Fixed rare occurrence of errant position teleporting under certain conditions when out in the open ocean.
  • Fixed rare chance of getting teleported across the map when dying while traveling the open ocean.
  • Fixed rare chance of initial superjump rotational animation not playing out immediatelly.
  • Fixed Beebz appearing see-through sometimes during cutscenes when first person mode is activated.
  • Improved artifacting in Beebz preview during first person mode.
  • Fixed rare chance of Beebz's transformations visually remaining stuck with a certain rotation.
  • Fixed Beebz's animation visually getting temporarily stuck if she gets attached while opening a chest.
  • You no longer receive damage when you've completed your reset to checkpoint move until you've respawned.
  • Fixed chance of a grind rail becoming solid ground when holding a Kappernian baby.
  • Feet vfx & sfx no longer constantly trigger on fast moving vertical platforms.
  • Fixed rare chance of errant inputs kicking in if you got damaged while in/near a shooting barrel.
  • Fixed the camera getting stuck if you frame perfect shoot out of the barrel cannon while entering it.
  • Resetting back to last checkpoint just when the out of bounds timer runs out no longer causes a level not to load.
  • Fixed rare instance where, based on frame perfect timing, the player's state would get confused when letting go of a retracting pole which led to errant barrel shootings and false snake + spin inputs thereafter.
  • Adjusted Golden Gear bits to trigger completion independent to if you're grounded or not.
  • Fixed the ability to outlast the Out of Bounds timer when abusing certain conditions.
  • Your FoV from Snake Boosting doesn't shift as abruptly anymore when a larger level loads in.

GUI

  • Fixed mouse controls not working in the pause menu when inside Ragnar's Castle.
  • Added Akira Toriyama as a special thanks in the credits. His works inspired us all.
  • Fixed some UI scaling issues in the mask shop's when viewed with an ultrawide screen.
  • Cleaned up prompts if you are doing a "hold throw" while jumping before ballooning up a Baby Kappernian.
  • Fixed "taking damage" visaual and "hold E" prompt from overlapping in the tutorial.
  • 100% completion message stops playing out if you teleport to a new area during it.
  • Fixed the totals menu event display count in Sunken Neighborhood sometimes showing 2/? instead of 2/2.
  • Fixed fog of war not clearing when playing with the minimap disabled.
  • Improved Ragnar's Castle icon on the map to not appear as big when zoomed in.
  • Fixed opening photo folder not working when initiated from the drone mode.
  • Made dragging the worldmap with the mouse less framerate dependent.
  • Made the "no snake" hex disclaimer more consistent across all relevant boss fights.
  • Fixed a few select icons not properly updating after their conditions have been completed on the worldmap.
  • Adjusted some map visuals to properly show larger holes instead of the ocean in Thuintir.
  • Improved ultrawide handling for beacon placement in the worldmap

GRAFFITI

  • Removed doubled up letter in the graffiti menu.
  • Added new Roc graffiti.
  • The tenth graffiti layer now properly renders on top instead of behind other layers.
  • Improved graffiti scaling to be more consistent.
  • Fixed menu getting stuck if you cancel an upload just at the right time.
  • Ensured the "finish graffiti" prompt properly displays with PS5 controllers.
  • Removing the ability to place graffiti during the finale.
  • Turning off graffiti during certain dramatic cutscenes.
  • Reported graffiti no longer respawn if you revisit the location later and it hasn't been deleted yet from the server.
  • Improved graffiti spawning logic to happen less or not at all on top of NPCs anymore.
  • Fixed some graffiti placement UI lingering under certain conditions like getting interrupted by enemies.

SETTINGS

  • Changed the Minimal Outline setting to correctly state that turning the option ON leads to performance gains, not off.
  • Original bindings now return if you reset settings after resetting bindings as well.
  • Fixed the music slider to reset to errant values if you reset settings twice in a row.
  • Inverting camera input no longer inverts map input as well.
  • Ensuring post processing gets properly re-enabled in runtime when switching from lower graphic presets back to higher ones.
  • Added the option to disable the game's version number being displayed in the bottom right GUI.

LEADERBOARDS

  • Removed non-functioning leaderboards in Drained Urbs.
  • Starting a leaderboard run from the totals menu now works even if you're currently not in said level.
  • Fixed errant pop-ups stating your ghost leaderboard data got beaten when it didn't.
  • Removed teleport functionality from the pop-up stating your ghost leaderboard is beaten to avoid accidental progression skips.
  • Stopped wrong times being submitted if you exit a level and complete it in a separate session.
  • Fixed challenging other player's ghost on the leaderboards from the completion menu not starting the run.
  • Properly displaying your "No Taisman" time in the UI if doing a "No Talisman" run instead of showing your overal best time.
  • Enabled leaderboards in The Crooked Crow.
  • Fixed issue of Eyetems and NPCs not appearing if you swim from one location to another quickly enough during a leaderboard run.

TALISMANS

  • Lowered chance to get trapped under the ice when entering a river quickly with Icy Steps.
  • Fixed errant chance that Flutter Steps kick in during certain jump conditions.
  • Nerfed the blue bubble talisman to no longer restore your cooldowns or forms. It now bounces you slightly higher.
  • Nerfed the Spin Optica to no longer reset other talisman's cooldowns when drilled into a wall.
  • Nerfed the height you get from the Spincopter.
  • Nerfed Bat Flutter height a tiny bit.
  • Nerfed White Bubble bounce height a tiny bit.
  • Adjusted spin optica's smear to reflect if the drill has been used or not for better clarity.
  • Doubled the effect of the Pendant.
  • Fixed being able to place checkpoints with the Airpoint talisman in certain boss fights.
  • Properly resetting airpoint when restarting a leaderboard run
  • Fixed camera getting stuck and reaching 0 health if you get hit by Infernal Engine damage while in a shooting barrel.
  • Improved grounding logic when entering the Snake Optica talisman during a wall run.
  • Fixed rare chance of the Spin Optica getting stuck mid-air instead of on geometry.
  • Time Out no longer triggers if you exit out of photo mode.
  • Flutterstep no longer kicks in when spawning into the title screen.
  • Fixed the Snake Hop talisman not actually letting you hop when entering snake form as described.
  • Made twirl jump more performance independent.
  • Fixed Spin Whirlwind not properly despawning if spawned into deep water.
  • Fixed Spin Whirlwind not properly interacting with upside down gravity zones.
  • Fixed the Item Arrow Tracker to no longer spawn when a location is completed.
  • Adjusted length of input for B-Ball to lower chance of accidental triggers.
  • Edited description of Airpoint to correctly state the cooldown is only 2 minutes long.

OUTFITS

  • Improved camera position when zooming in on Beebz's head when wearing certain outfits.
  • Removed eyepatch from the Bloody Privateer outfit as the description implied.
  • Fixed typo with the Slime-san Headband and Shirt.
  • Fixed stretched UV under the armpit of the Swimsuit outfit.
  • Spawned items for special outfit idles no longer jitter on moving platforms.
  • Spawned items for special outfit idles no longer despawn with certain inputs like the hint arrow.
  • Fixed UNBEATABLE outfit set not triggering the unique idle.
  • Fixed teeth color with Vindra's outfit.

WORLD

  • Adjusted the colors in Jester's islands to be less harsh on the eyes over longer period of times.
  • Fixed Drill particles reappearing under certain conditions in Jester's Minery despite them being turned off.
  • Fixed missing end visuals for certain gravity zones in Jester's Minery.
  • Ensured some missing floating ice platforms appear in Snowstorm to avoid any floating lanterns.
  • Added extra circular geometry around the Skull Sceal elevator near the terrain to stop clipping abuse.
  • Moved some poles in Skull Sceal to be properly attached to walls.
  • The Floating Fashionista no longer passes out of bounds when circling the Lighthouse.
  • Ring race is now temporarily disabled when engaging with the Baby Kappernian challenge in Blazing Bonanza.
  • Fixed rescued Baby Kappernians leaving the Mama again under certain conditions.
  • You can no longer get to a grounded state on lava in a certain spot in Blazing Bonanza.
  • Fixed niche scenario where a drone race, like in Blazing Bonanza, could be registered as cleared without rewarding the appropriate reward.
  • Fixed two rings overlapping in the Ring Race challenge in Sgudal Ruins.
  • Fixed fog from Mint's Challenges lingering after exiting the challenge in certain scenarios.
  • Fixed swimming kicking in on rare occasions when returning from the Mint challenge in Aurum Mines.
  • Stopped Skeletal Chums from floating above eggs occasionally in Jester's Leviathan.
  • Beebz no longer briefly splashes in water when starting the game in Ragnar's Castle.
  • Fixed certain objects liked Flipping Spike Platforms and Dice getting stuck in some levels with Mint Challenges.
  • Changed some VFX from red to blue for ice lasers.
  • Fixed some spots near the ocean moving you along as if you're still in a river in Red Forest.

  • Fixed chance of lever being activated but grind rail being deactivated on return visits in Blessed Optica.

  • Fixed typo found with Lokian Warrior in Laser Challenge.
  • Fixed typo found in the call with Roc about the Dueling Grounds.
  • Fixed typo found in Midgi's dialogue in Vindra's Skies.
  • Fixed typo found in Lokian dialogue in Arctic Eden.
  • Fixed incorrect term for a saying said by a Kappernian in Skull Sceal.
  • Fixed incorrect term for a saying said by Midgi in Ragnar's Castle.
  • Fixed incorrect term for a saying said by Roc in Tartar Village.
  • Fixed the lightbulb occasionally sticking around after having delivered it to the lighthouse.
  • Improved transition between the cutscenes from Vindra's Skies and Campsite.
  • Fixed Ragnar's cloak freaking out during certain cutscenes.
  • Fixed rare chance of cutscene entering Ragnar's Castle failing and added a failsafe for the "Crashing the Party" achievement.
  • Fixed DK's secondary dialogue not properly playing out in Ragnar's Castle and instead reverting to his placeholder text.
  • Changed Jester's initial introductory cutscene to play when landing on one of his three islands instead of merely approaching it.

BOSSES

  • Fixed Jester's hand particles sticking around if hit by a rocket while it's spawning.
  • Fixed the camera glitching out if you hit Jester's missile with the Boost Punch talisman.
  • Jester's missiles now react to your superjump cannonball's shockwave.
  • Tweaked Jester's shockwave colors to be more prominent.
  • Properly cleaning up some lingering vfx if you die during some of Jester's phases.
  • You can no longer enter snake form during that brief window before the finale of Jester's fight.
  • Skipping Tridentarius cutscenes on the TVs now properly turns them off.
  • The reversed music now properly switches back in the Tridentarius fight if you let Tridentarius come back after tripping without attacking her.
  • Fixed rare chance of Tridentarius forgetting how to walk down her own corridors.
  • Ensured bits and pieces are unloaded correctly if you restart the Tridentarius fight during certain phases.
  • Stopped the player from being able to run away during the final phase of Tridentarius and falling through the world.
  • Improved tunnel generation during the Tridentarius fight to no longer occasionally reveal seams.
  • Added invisible ceilings to some Gearserker fights to stop the player from escaping.
  • Improved camera reset logic when dying & restarting the second phase of Ragnar's boss fight.
  • Stopped the superjump cannonball's shockwave from instakilling Ragnar.
  • Fixed cutscene retriggering if you jump into the goo after dying in phase two, before starting it again.
  • Removing any locations where you can still place a checkpoint during Ragnar's boss fight.

AUDIO

  • Improved music fade out logic in certain levels that are silent on the surface with larger underground areas.
  • Fixed music jittering if you teleport directly from the boat of a mask salesmen.
  • Stopped some music from increasing in volume when remaining in the pause menu for a longer period of time.

STEAM DECK

  • Fixed main menu prompt from disappearing in the GUI on Steam Deck and with the Switch Pro Controller.
  • Taking photos on Steam Deck no longer displays the UI.
  • Removed the directory prompt for photos on Steam Deck.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Golden Gear doesn't reappear when revisiting a level after beating a Gearserker and doing a Mint Challenge.
  • Fixed a few areas in certain Mint Challenges allowing you to place a checkpoint.
  • Water splashes now properly reposition with the floating origin reposition during ocean travels.
  • Fixed "skip tutorial" function breaking down if you initiate the game before the logo appeared.
  • Closing application more cleanly if exiting the game after having done a leaderboard run.
  • Adjusted Ragnar's Castle chains to disable any chance of climbing them all the way to the top. We saw your 30 minute long climbs...
  • Rephrased Shopping Queen and Talisman Engineer achievement to say "most" not "all" items.
